Nurses were around for years before Florence Nightingale, but she changed History in the Crimean War 1854, by going to help English patents in the barracks by cleaning airing them out and feeding them well plus getting medicines and supplies to them that they needed. She used science and methodology learned. Before 1854 men and clergywomen did a lot of the nursing in communities, as well as the Women of the Manor would take care of the people under them. After Nightingale, hospitals started programs to train women to be nurses, but they were then expected to work for that hospital. Next occurred Nurses were becoming educated through the College system. By Community or University style Colleges. These Nurses could work in many employment opportunities. Some went on to become Nurse-Practitioners or into Administration. They led the way to make protocols for the safety of the patients, themselves, doctors and the Hospital and the Community as a whole. The American Nurses Association desegregated in 1949. Black Nurses joined the ANA. In 1970 Black Nurses felt there was too much for the ANA to do so they made The National Black Nurses Association, in 1971. The one group that is lacking in Nursing is Men. With the increase of need for Nurses in the 21^st Century Men and a lot more women will be needed in this Critical Service.

Healthcare is a huge labyrinth of dos and don’ts right now. Covid is making people go crazy with masks and injection mandates. Even the Healthcare personnel are in turmoil. Perhaps we should let them figure out what is best for them individually. I believe they have been living the science for the last 2 years. Nurses are already in decline and more are needed. The Healthcare industry already calls it a Crisis.
